Opt-out & takedown

State unclaimed property records are public by law, and states publish them specifically so owners can be found. Even so, we honor removal requests for anything we host.

What you can opt out of

If we later launch a name-search tool built on public state data, you can ask us to suppress your name from our copy of that data. This does not remove the record from the state — only from our tool. To claim your money, or to be removed at the source, contact the state agency directly through the official site linked on your state’s guide.

How to request removal

Email team@unclaimedguide.com with the subject line “Opt-out request” and include the name and, if possible, the city and state so we can locate the correct record. We do not need — and will not ask for — your Social Security number.

Our commitment

We verify and process valid opt-out and takedown requests within seven days, and we confirm by email when it’s done.
